East Anglian Writers was formed in the 1960s. In 2000 we became affiliated to the Society of Authors. We aim to bring together professional writers working or living in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. We have a membership of over 200 writers, from a wide variety of disciplines and we hold a number of social and professional networking events throughout the year to break the isolation of writing and to help promote members and their works. A number of our authors teach creative writing, run workshops and give talks and presentations to interested groups and schools, please visit our membership page for profiles of authors, a list of members by genre and their contact details. Our committee includes a representative from West Anglia, Stephanie Norris, who organises events in that region. We encourage members in other regions/counties to contact the committee with ideas for events that they would like to organise for members in their area.

We have two annual parties in July and December, and a one day literary tour in the spring. In additon, we hold events such as talks by publishers and agents and get-togethers in local pubs and cafés. We actively encourage our members to become involved and put forward suggestions for new events.

Our Annual General Meeting is held in the autumn. Members are encouraged to attend.
