Summer Party - 16th July 2005

It was a delight to return, once again, to the garden of Ann and Anthony Thwaite for our annual summer party. Not only did we have a good turn out of members, but the weather was also terrific.

For the brave and adventure-seeking, Ann and the Chairman punted guests up the river Tas. Back on land though, there was plenty of fascinating conversation and it was great to catch up with old and new members alike, as well as meeting their families.

As always the 'pot luck' lunch delivered a magnificent feast, including homemade hummus and bread, Clive King's famous potato salad, and an amazing choice of desserts. There was also plenty of second-hand books to help raise funds for the EAW, as well as strawberry and liquorish basil plants to be snapped up.

The annual Summer Party Raffle Book, signed by everyone who came, and a bottle of Cava was won by Rodney Dale. A runner up prize of a bottle of Cava was won by Lesley Grant-Adamson.

Thanks to Anthony Vivis for donating the Cava as a prize. A big thank you to Ann and Anthony Thwaite for letting us use their garden, and thanks to everyone who helped make the Summer Party a terrific success. See you next year!
