Biography

 

Carol was born in Suffolk but has lived and worked in Austria, Canada and Australia. She returned to East Anglia and farmed in Norfolk for fifteen years before settling back in Suffolk in 1991. She has worked as a freelance writer for magazines and newspapers, as editor in the farming press, and as freelance contributor and technical/studio for BBC East, Radio Norfolk and Anglia Television. Carol was also Press & Publicity Officer for BBC East in the 1980s and press correspondent for the Eastern Daily Press and Mercury Series for 12 years. She now writes local history books, church guides, history and genealogical articles, plus editing the Diary for Images (the magazine for Ipswich Arts Association) and book reviews.

She has also published a number of short stories, in the Eastern Daily Press and The Townswoman. One of her stories was short listed for the Ian St James Award 1999 and subsequently published in New Writer.

She is a member of the Society of Authors and the Guild of Agricultural Journalists and a founder member of the East Anglian Writers.
