Biography
Born in 1941Garry Kilworth was raised in Aden and was there when it
became South Yemen in 1967. He has travelled extensively and has
lived and worked in many different lands but has a particular
passion for Suffolk and the Far East. Garry still backpacks and is a
Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He lives in a renovated
1766 workhouse on the edge of a paupers’ cemetery full of unmarked
graves. He and his wife Annette have two adventurous children and
five startling grandchildren. Garry Kilworth has won several prizes
for fiction, was longlisted for the Booker, was runner up for the
East Anglian ‘Angel Award’ and was shortlisted for the Carnegie
Medal twice.
