Biography

Steve was born 2 February, 1950 and is married to Brigitte, the mother of his children Conrad and Stella. After graduating from the university of Cambridge he took a doctorate in experimental psychology at the university of Sussex in 1980. By then he had completed a first job – in research at the Open University’s Milton Keynes headquarters. His main career post, from 1979 to 1990, was lecturing in psychology at the university of Ulster in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. While there he qualified as a chartered psychologist. Returning to another lectureship in psychology from 1990 to 1994 with Essex Health Authority in Colchester, he then went into private practice in psychology (though with several other irons in the fire).

He is the editor of “Laterality Newsletter” and “Cognitive Systems” (associate). His leisure interests include applications of computers, chess (at which he holds the title of County Master), getting physical exercise and of course books.
