Biography

Sue Heaser spent her childhood in Pakistan, Lebanon and Kenya before completing her education at Falmouth Art College and the University of Exeter. She then worked as an archaeological illustrator for the Museum of London and English Heritage before turning to a career in art and craft which has spanned a wide range of genres from silver jewellery, polymer clay, candle making and glass engraving to ceramics, puppetry and weaving. She has written eleven major craft books with two more in the pipeline and has contributed dozens of articles to British and US magazines. She teaches craft workshops world wide.

The Big Book of Candles was translated and published across the globe, including in  French, Spanish, and Chinese. Sue is also an illustrator for many archaeological journals, papers and books.

Sue's hobbies are sailing, playing the violin (in orchestra and English folk groups), painting, skiing and (occasionally) writing and directing for amateur dramatics.
