Revising an existing profile... To amend your profile already listed on the East Anglian Writers' website, please read these instructions carefully. All amendments should be sent here (but please re-check this page before sending in case this changes).
1. Adding New Titles Adding new titles is straight forward. We just need to be told which category/genre it is listed under and the details of the title (including ISBN (preferable the 13 digit version)). For example,
2. Making Corrections (to titles or links) If you need to make less than 4 small corrections, they can be e-mailed directly, as long as you make it clear what needs to be corrected. For example,
The more corrections we have to make, the greater potential for more mistakes being added in the process. So, if your corrections are extensive, then please copy the information from your profile (using your mouse to highlight the text and copy/paste into a text/word document) and correct it yourself before resubmitting. For example,
3. Updating/amending your biography If you are updating or amending your biography in any way, please resubmit the entire biography, making it clear that we are to substitute the new text for the old text.
4. Adding Blackwell's Information Please follow the instructions under "Step 6: Selling Your Book - Affiliate Information" which can be found on this page: click here. Then resubmit all the entire titles section including genres. To change the edition the link goes to, first search the Blackwell's site for the title concerned and copy the ISBN (13 digit version if there is a choice). You can use this search engine link: If the title is not listed on Blackwells, we can not add a Buy Now link. If your title is in print and not available via Blackwell's, you may wish to approach your publisher/agent to investigate the matter. At some point, we may lobby Blackwell's on behalf of members in-print but not listed.
Your correction should look like this:
5. Changing Categories for titles
The genre and topic lists are subject to change, and from time to time some writers may feel that their title should be in a different category. In this case, copy and amend all affected categories,
For example:
FAQ: Why Blackwell's? After a review of online book retailers, we decided to have an "affiliate" arrangement with Blackwell's Online. Simply put, it means that for encouraging people to buy copies of our books from Blackwell's, through the East Anglian Writers site, the group get a small amount of commission for each sale. We are not involved in anything beyond the link between our site and theirs - all stock issues, book orders and despatching is done entirely by Blackwell's. We added the affiliate programme to the site not to make money but to help promote members works more actively. If the book is not stocked at Blackwell's Online then we cannot link to it... if it is in-print and not listed then you might wish take it up with your agent, publisher or even Blackwell's themselves to gently encourage it to be stocked. In order to keep the site looking good and be straight forward to use, it has been important to limit the number of buy now's used in each profile. If we have more than one per title it looks messy and confusing. Paperbacks are listen in preference to hardbacks as they are usually cheaper and may be more likely to be in print.
